San Sebastián, Puerto Rico
Gozalandia Waterfalls in San Sebastián has become one of the most visited natural treasures in Puerto Rico, it’s also known as “Charca El Roble” or “Charco de la Leche”. The natural pool has a stunning waterfall that became part of the movie "A Perfect Gateway" in 2009; here you can see the trailer where Gozalandia appear. If you are going to visit the waterfalls and you're not a local, it is important that you analyze the map well to get there without trouble, because, the path is not labeled and its location is a bit difficult. A GPS will be very helpful; you can get the coordinates at the bottom of this post. Parking is $5 + tax = $5.35. Once you park, you will need to walk like 5 minutes and then down through a steep stairs. This can be a challenge for people who are not in good physical condition. Once on the river you can take a dip in the large pool, jump into the water from some of its stones, enjoy a small underwater cave located on the right side of the waterfalls or simply enjoy a day of adventure on the river while you see young people jump from the heights into the water (this could be a bit scary). Remember to carry bags for disposing of garbage , because, there are not trash cans. It is important to use the necessary safety measures for your security and on rainy days avoid visiting these waterfalls, which can become a dangerous place.
