Cayo de Tierra (Earth’s Key) in Vieques is between the Esperanza and Sun Bay beaches. This small piece of land, connected to the main island by a narrow sand passage, is surrounded by a beautiful beach. Due to the shallow water, it is not possible to swim there. It is very good for observing birds and little fish that swim close to the shore. That makes this beach perfect for a romantic walk or an exploration trip with children. You can arrive at the beach by walking along the shore from Esperanza to Sun Bay, or using an unpaved street just before the entrance of Sun Bay if you are driving from Esperanza beach.
