The Alberguel Olímpico Germán Rieckehoff in Salinas is a complex of seven parks for the enjoyment of the entire family. If you go with children your first stop should be “Isla Chiquitines” or “Villa Enchumbá”. Both are aquatic parks with sprinklers, dumping buckets, and ground and top sprays; perfect for children to cool off and have fun. The area of Villa Enchumbá has nine gazebos and a community centre you can rent to hold activities. Both parks have bathrooms and dressing rooms.
For teens and adults is the “Ola Marine” park whose main attraction is a huge wave pool. It also has a pool with sliders and an area with sprinklers for little children.
If you don’t want to get wet, there are also options for you. You can visit the Botanical Garden and experience a relaxing time among nature. The garden is a beautiful collection of tropical plants decorated with artificial waterfalls and lakes.
The adventurers will run to “Piedra Chiquita”. A rock climbing park with an artificial wall of 55 feet. It also has smaller climbing stones for children.
The fun doesn't end there. You have to visit “Campo Chico” a golf course with 18-hole surrounded by nature. Right in the middle of the golf course there is a huge tree with benches to rest.
Since we are at the Albergue Olimpico, you could not miss the Olympic Museum in Puerto Rico. The museum presents the history of the sport of Puerto Rico and its representation in the world.
In the park there are a Burger King and various food establishments, but get ready for long lines. You cannot enter with food, but you can go to the parking area and eat your food. The cost per person is $15 and the parking $3. It opens from June to July and some years until August.
